Tuberculosis Detection and Treatment camps

The Bihar Tuberculosis Association in collaboration with a USA based social organisation “THE PRAJNOPAYA FOUNDATION ” will organise health camps especially for identification and meditation of TB cases at Rajgir, Nalanda and Vaishali in between 25th to 28th of March 2006. Mr. Tenzin LS Priyadarshi , Director of the Prajnopaya foundation has agreed to collaborate and partner with the association on this noble Tubercuiosis treatment and preventation project and has consented to provide funds for conducting successful and beneficial camps for the people living in the area s of Rajgir, Nalanda and Vaishali. We would begin with the areas where the DOTS programme is having difficulties to reach and is dominated by poor and slum – dwellers having more TB cases livelihood and malnutrition.

We would undertake the programme phase wise:
(i)

Identification of potential cases

(ii) Diagnosis of identified cases by sputum and blood test and X-rays.
(iii) Medication of the confirmed cases.

Apart from the above, we would also undertake awareness activities especially among the targeted people in the given areas.

The inaugural function at Rajgir on March 2006 will witness a host of dignitaries, which include Hon’ble Health Minister, Govt. of Bihar, and Additional Director General of Health Services, Govt. of India, State and District level Officers and Doctors as well as Mr. Priyadarshi accompanied with other representatives of Prajnopaya Foundation, USA.

We hope and trust that it would be a landmark achievement for the Bihar Tubercuolis Association to work with a dedicated and devoted organization headed by Mr. Priyadarshi. The success of these camps will pave way for other organisation to come forward and join hands with us on this noble cause.
